Colbey Arden
Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Colbey has over 20 years of experience in private equity, private credit, and insurance. Prior to forming 42 Asset Management, he was previously a Partner and Managing Director at Phoenix Merchant Partners where he led the firm’s capital solutions strategy. Prior to Phoenix, Colbey maintained several leadership roles across many market cycles, including Head of M&A for Clear Street, a fintech prime brokerage platform, and Managing Director at ORIX Corporation in their Special Opportunities Group, where he led an investment team and oversaw a multi-billion-dollar private credit portfolio.
Over the course of Colbey’s career, he has completed and led 70+ investments across the U.S. middle market, including control and minority private equity, private credit, and insurance, representing over $4.5 billion in transaction value.
Colbey has a B.S. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School, and an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business.
Bryan Robertson
Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Bryan has over 15 years of experience across structured products, private credit, private equity, and insurance. Prior to forming 42 Asset Management, he was a founding team member at Midwest Holding, managing American Life through its pre-IPO, take-private, and completing 15+ reinsurance transactions. Bryan most recently was a Portfolio Manager for a private-equity-backed reinsurance strategy at Phoenix Merchant Partners, repeating the successful approach at Midwest.
Bryan previously led technical teams in TS/SCI communications as a U.S. Marine Corps Platoon Sergeant. He earned his B.A. from Yale University and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Adam Meltzer
Managing Director
Adam joined 42 Asset Management in September 2025. Adam has over a decade of experience investing on behalf of family offices and institutional clients across private equity, private credit, and special situations. He leads origination, due diligence, and fundraising for the firm’s private equity and insurance initiatives. His background spans equity capital markets and direct investments, providing a versatile perspective on structuring and executing complex transactions.
Michael Dhom
Vice President
Michael joined 42 Asset Management in September 2025. Michael supports the firm’s investment origination and execution efforts across private credit and insurance strategies. With a strong background in financial analysis and deal structuring, he plays a key role in underwriting, portfolio management, and investor relations. His analytical rigor and collaborative approach reflect the firm’s commitment to precision and partnership.
Charlotte Fink
Investment Analyst
Charlotte joined 42 Asset Management in September 2025. She primarily focuses on developing investment theses, executing investment due diligence, deal sourcing, and portfolio company monitoring. Charlotte is currently studying to complete her B.S. in Cognitive Sciences from Yale University.

David Gubbay
Partner at HighPost Capital
David has over 35 years of experience in private equity, insurance, and financial services. He is currently a Senior Managing Director and Partner at HighPost Capital, a private equity firm focused on consumer and leisure sector investments. David previously led Whitehall Financial Group’s financial services interests, which included Life Partners Group and subsidiaries (NYSE:LPG) and later overseeing its sale to Conseco.
Chris Pento
Co-Founder and Former CEO of Clear Street
Chris has over 30 years of experience in the capital markets. He is currently Operating Partner at CS Investment Management, a division of the White Bay Group. Prior to joining White Bay Group, Chris was the Co-Founder and former CEO of Clear Street, a cloud-native prime brokerage platform. Prior to Clear Street, Chris held several senior roles in finance services, including Managing Director of Global Operations at Knight Capital Group.
John Sarpa
International Real Estate Developer
John has over 40 years in real estate development experience across the U.S., Europe, and Middle East, including projects like the Ritz-Carlton Aspen (now St. Regis), Aspen Meadows, and W Aspen Hotel. John was a founding board member of Trojena (NEOM) and the former Chair of Aspen Valley Health where he remains on the board.
Ben Mallet OBE
International Campaigns Strategist
Ben has over 20 years of experience leading political and corporate campaigns worldwide and currently works as a Director of International Campaigns at a major US political consultancy. Ben was a former advisor to the UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and David Cameron, Foreign Office Minister Lord Zac Goldsmith, and served as senior counsel to leaders including Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, and other governments across Europe, Asia, and Africa. He studied International Relations and Politics at Yale University.
